As a VP in the Adaptive Immunology Research Unit at GSK, Louise leads a team of researchers to generate and advance a pipeline of assets for immune mediated disorders. This ranges from target identification through to clinical proof of concept and Louise has previously led projects at all discovery stages including into PhI studies. Previously, Louise led research teams at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, CT, USA and Millennium Pharmaceuticals (now Takeda), MA, USA with projects in oncology and cardiovascular indications in addition to immunology. Louise also sponsors GSK Immunology Network, where academic immunologists join GSK on sabbatical to nucleate and develop therapeutic concepts, which sparked the formation of Sitryx with Prof. Luke O’Neill. Louise represents GSK on the Sitryx board. Louise has a BSc Biotechnology from National University of Ireland, Galway, PhD (Developmental Haematology) from EMBL, Heidelberg, Germany and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard, Boston.
