Sitryx recently signed an exclusive 5-year global licensing and research collaboration with Eli Lilly and Company to develop disease-modifying therapeutics in immuno-inflammation. Sitryx received an upfront payment of $50 million and a $10 million equity investment in return for an exclusive, worldwide license to develop and commercialize up to four novel immunometabolism targeted therapeutics, including Sitryx’s two lead projects.
Laboratory based scientist with responsibility for the development and implementation of robust cellular assays recapitulating key aspects of disease biology. The successful candidate will bring enthusiasm for the immunology field and relevant experience. The candidate will work as part of a team developing new assays that are used in the validation of new drug discovery targets and contribute to mechanism-of-action work for existing pipeline projects
- Responsible for developing in vitro assays relevant to autoimmune, inflammatory or oncology diseases.
- Performing experimental work for in-house target validation for modulation of immune cell function.
- Contributing to the design and implementation of innovative screening cascades for immunometabolism projects.
- Utilizing assays to contribute to the understanding of the mechanisms of action and immunological effects of targets in current pipeline projects.
- A graduate with several years relevant experience or a postgraduate degree in immunology or cell biology.
- A proven track record of successful contribution to drug discovery in an industrial or academic environment.
- Highly experienced in in vitro immunology assays including isolating, differentiating, culturing, and profiling primary immune cells.
- Hands-on experience with standard immunological techniques including immunoassays and flow cytometry, and experience with the associated software packages and analysis tools (e.g., Flow- Jo) is required.
- Assay development and validation experience using small molecules.
- Can-do attitude and team player with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with cell types of both innate and adaptive immune systems.
- Experience with culturing and analysis of human and mouse primary immune cells in vitro.
- Experience working in small molecule drug discovery.
- Knowledge of plate-based assays and laboratory automation.
- Knowledge of industry standard data capture and analysis tools.
- Good understanding of laboratory HS&E regulations.
- Understanding of HTA requirements.
- Good interpersonal awareness.
