Sitryx recently took part in Cantor's private company webinar series, where Chief Executive officer, Iain Kilty, and Chief Financial Officer, Adam Mostafa, discussed the company's immunometabolism platform and its lead clinical program, SYX-5219 an oral pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2) modulator, currently in a Phase 1b trial in atopic dermatitis, with a readout expected by year end. Following the session, Cantor's biotechnology research team has published a report summarizing the discussion.
The report notes that, in the company’s earlier Phase 1a trial, which evaluated the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of SYX-5219, the candidate was well tolerated and produced a dose-dependent reduction in serum CCL17/thymus and activation-regulated chemokine (TARC) levels – a key biomarker in atopic dermatitis – with reductions at the higher doses characterized as comparable to those seen with established IL-4/IL-13 biologics.
The report also explores the broader potential of PKM2 modulation across inflammatory and metabolic conditions, alongside Sitryx's broader pipeline, which includes programs in psoriasis and asthma, and its collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim.
